Phobias...

Yes that is right, I have decided to blog about a certain phobia which I find interesting.

OK, so most people know what the word Arachnophobia means. For anyone who doesn't:-
Arachnophobia is the fear of any animal which comes under the classification of arachnid, however it seems to mainly relate to spiders. Now I actually did a little research on this after early today I was sat in my bed on my laptop and a spider began crawling amongst my duvet towards me. In all honesty I was terrified. I froze in place and couldn't even breathe, my heart rate increased and I started shaking violently. Now just to clarify this spider was no more than an inch in length...
Now for anyone who DOESN'T have arachnophobia, this reaction may seem irrational. However a phobia tends to be a an irrational fear to start with. There can be fears/phobias of anything from open spaces to falling asleep.

To put it simply I was very interested in how many people suffer from this, and after some digging around the internet I discovered that 50% of females and 10% of males, suffer from mild arachnophobia or worse.

So little side note, next time you see someone who has this phobia DON'T exploit it, its terrifying enough.

OK that was another blog from Mello.
